Kevan had been leading transactions as a Corporate Finance Advisor since 2000, when he started a corporate finance division at one of the region’s largest accountancy practices and built his specialist team to be one of the largest in South Yorkshire.
Moving on to become a Partner at Strategic Corporate Finance, progressing it from a sole trader to a leading independent Corporate Finance Boutique and on the back of this success, winning industry awards.
Kevan created Castle Square Corporate Finance in October 2009, during which time, Kevan has advised on vast merger and acquisitions deals, including Management Buy-Ins/Buy-Outs, Development Capital Fundraisings and Disposals.
Kevan is a highly successful dealmaker with specialised experience of Private Equity transactions and has an enviable track record of successfully completing deals, resulting in Castle Square being awarded multiple corporate finance awards for its deals and services.
Outside of work Kevan loves spending time with his family, his wife Diane and 2 grown up children. Interest includes following his beloved Sheffield Wednesday home and away and follows Formula One, as well as owning some very fast cars. He also loves music and regularly attends gigs, with the likes of AC/DC, Iron Maiden, Motorhead, Helloween, and Black Sabbath, amongst his favourite old school bands. More lately he has been headbanging to Arch Enemy and Burning Witches.
Rob joined the Castle Square team as a Partner in 2024 following 24 years in Corporate Finance Advisory roles including with Azets and Mazars.
Rob has a passion for working with owner managed businesses, with a focus on delivering value to shareholders and decision makers within the Yorkshire and UK mid market.
Outside of work, Rob is a keen cricket fan and follows closely the fortunes of the Yorkshire County Cricket Club.
Brad is a Partner at Castle Square Corporate Finance.
He joined the firm having spent the last decade in various roles with EY and The Bank of New York Mellon in Manchester.
Brad is a certified chartered accountant with the ACCA and has advised on a myriad of buy side, sell side and debt fundraising transactions.
He has advised clients operating within sectors including Healthcare, Engineering, Renewables, Manufacturing, FMCG and the Circular Economy.
Richard Weston joined the Castle Square team in September 2024 as an Associate Director, following six years at a national accountancy firm.
Richard has over 10 years of experience across consulting and Corporate Finance advising owner-managed businesses across Yorkshire and the UK mid-market. Richard holds an MBA with finance from York Business School, graduating with Distinction in 2017.
Outside of work, Richard spends time with his young family and is a huge music fan, having spent much of his late-teens and early 20s in local rock bands. He closely follows the Formula 1, Chelsea and York City.
Joe graduated from the University of Leeds with a First-Class Honours in Economics in 2018.
He then joined Castle Square in mid-2021, before qualifying as a Certified Chartered Accountant in 2023 while working at the firm.
Joe has buy-side and sell-side lead advisory experience in a range of transactions, particularly in the industrials and manufacturing sector, ranging from BIMBOs, MBOs, MBIs, vertical trade acquisitions, minority/majority sale to private equity, private equity development capital fundraising, cross border trade sales and sales to EOTs.
Having qualified as a ICAEW Chartered Accountant with the ACA in 2022, Josh joined the Castle Square team as an Advisor, following his interest in the Corporate Finance industry and in pursuit of a new challenge.
Prior to joining Castle Square, Josh had studied Accounting and Financial Management at the University of Sheffield, where he graduated in 2019. Following this, he worked for a Big 4 accounting practice, where he gained 4 years invaluable experience within the Audit service line, working primarily alongside some of the largest private companies in the UK.
Sienna joined Castle Square as an Assistant Manager in December 2025, bringing three years of corporate finance experience from DC Advisory, where she supported clients across a range of mid-market transactions.
She graduated from the University of Liverpool with a First-Class Honours degree in Business Economics.
Originally from Yorkshire, Sienna is excited to return to the region and support Castle Square’s strong track record in delivering high quality advice to its growing portfolio of clients.
Zach Gilbert-Savage has joined the Castle Square Team in March 2025 as Corporate Finance Analyst, based at our Leeds Office.
Zach graduated with First Class Honours in Finance and Management from Loughborough University and has chosen to pursue a career in Corporate Finance. Zach is currently studying towards his ACCA qualification.
Whilst at University, Zach completed a placement at Toyota Financial Services working out of its Europe & Africa Representative Office in Belgium, where he gained invaluable experience working within the Sales & Marketing team, analysing business trends across 19 markets.
Following the completion of his studies, Zach spent 6 months travelling around South-East Asia, visiting Cambodia, Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam.
In his spare time, Zach is an avid combat sports fan and enjoys stand-up comedy.
Max has known Kevan Shaw and Castle Square for many years and has previously been a client of theirs on a couple of transactions.
Originally qualified as a Chartered Accountant with EY, then moved onto Keepmoat PLC as their numbers guy, he eventually set up Wyse Leasing, a computer Leasing company, with a business partner.
After a successful 10 year trading history, they sold Wyse Leasing and Max then went on to create a commercial property portfolio, as well as running a recycling business, BTR PLC and also creating a Finance House, GEF.
Now divested of almost all those interests, Max joins Castle Square as a Non-Executive Director and an Ambassador for the company.
Max is also a Chartered Director with the IOD.
Out of work, Max spends his time with his wife and four children, driving his classic car and skiing in France, Canada and Austria every year.
Claire joined the Castle Square Team in May 2025 as Marketing Consultant. Claire has many years experience in marketing, beginning her career after education in an advertising agency – far too many years ago to mention! She holds an MA in Communication Studies.
Assisting the Directors and Team of Castle Square, Claire’s focus is to ensure all marketing functions, digital and print are timely, accurate, and to the highest standard.
Away from the office, Claire is a part-time Director of the British Manufacturing Consortium, is a Freeman of the Company of Cutlers in Hallamshire, and enjoys relaxing with her family, including her 95 year old dad and the family pooches!
